Saply Named a Top CV Formatting Tool for Recruitment Agencies by ATZ CRM

ATZ CRM’s “Top 9 CV Formatting Software For Recruiters” is an editorial comparison of tools that turn raw candidate CVs into consistent, client-ready documents. Published in March 2026, it lists Saply second, with the label “best for consultancies and recruitment agencies”, and credits six capabilities: AI CV formatting into branded templates, anonymisation, CV-to-vacancy tailoring, Word and Outlook plugins, ATS integrations, and ISO 27001 certification. This post records what the listing says, adds the context a buyer needs, and explains how to use a third-party list like this one without outsourcing the decision to it.

What the ATZ CRM list covers

ATZ CRM is an AI-powered ATS and CRM for recruitment agencies, which we covered in our own comparison of CRMs for staffing agencies. Its editorial team published the CV formatting comparison on 10 March 2026. The list mixes three kinds of product, which matters when you read it: platforms that include formatting as one module, dedicated formatting tools, and parsers that extract data but do not produce a finished document.

RankToolATZ CRM’s “best for”Product type
1ATZ CRMRecruitment agencies, staffing firmsATS and CRM with formatting built in
2SaplyConsultancies and recruitment agenciesFormatting, tailoring and matching inside Word, Google Docs, Outlook and the ATS
3CeipalStaffing firms and large hiring teamsATS with formatting module
4AllsorterAgencies needing fast CV reformattingDedicated formatter
5Recruiteze iReformatSmall to mid-sized staffing agenciesDedicated formatter
6Zoho RecruitBusinesses wanting an all-in-one ATS plus resume parserATS with parsing
7DaXtra ParserAgencies hiring internationally or handling multilingual CVsParser
8BullhornStaffing firms needing robust parsing plus CRM integrationATS with parsing
9TextkernelLarge enterprises with heavy hiring loadParser

The list is not a ranking by score. ATZ CRM places its own product first, which is normal for a vendor listicle, and the remaining eight are grouped by use case rather than ordered by merit. Read the “best for” column as the useful part.

What ATZ CRM said about Saply

The entry names six things. Each one is accurate, and each deserves a sentence of context that the listicle format did not have room for.

One CV, one pass, inside the tool the recruiter already has open Raw CV in Word, Outlook, Google Docs, ATS PDF, DOCX or scan Branded template Your layout, fonts and section order, client variants included Tailored to vacancy Relevant experience first, match score against the job spec Anonymised Optional, one click, for blind submissions and tender rules Sent Back to Word, Outlook or the ATS record Processing layer: ISO 27001 certified, EU hosted, candidate data never used to train models Under a minute per CV in practice, against roughly 30 minutes by hand

AI CV formatting into branded templates. Saply rebuilds any incoming CV, whether PDF, DOCX, DOC, RTF, TXT or a scan, into your own template. The agency uploads its template once and Saply sets it up, including client-specific variants, so every consultant produces the same document. The CV formatting page shows the before and after.

Anonymisation. One click removes names, photos, contact details and other identifiers while keeping the template intact. Agencies use it for blind submissions and for public sector tenders where anonymised CVs are a scored requirement.

CV-to-vacancy tailoring. Given a job description, Saply reorders and rephrases the CV so the relevant experience comes first, and scores the fit. The matching and analytics view lists strengths, risk areas and questions to ask the candidate before the client does.

Word and Outlook plugins. Correct, and incomplete. Saply also runs inside Google Docs and Gmail, and a plain email to the engine returns a formatted CV for teams that use neither. The point ATZ CRM makes is the right one: recruiters do not leave the document they are working in.

ATS integrations. Saply has native connectors for Bullhorn, Carerix, Spott and Loxo, and works with any other ATS through the Word, email and browser routes. The integrations page lists what each connector does.

ISO 27001 certified. Saply’s information security management system is certified against ISO/IEC 27001:2022. Processing happens on EU infrastructure, candidate data is handled as a processor under GDPR, and nothing is used to train models. The Trust Center has the audit report and the public status page.

Where the “consultancies and recruitment agencies” label fits, and where it does not

ATZ CRM’s label is accurate, and it is worth being precise about why, because it also tells you who should not buy Saply.

The label fits when a team sends CVs to clients as part of its revenue. A consultancy submitting profiles to a framework, an IT staffing agency sending three candidates per vacancy, a search firm producing a dossier: all of them re-create the same document dozens of times a week, and the cost of doing it by hand is real. Lawes Consulting Group in London sends about 45 CVs a day and calculated 75 hours a week returned to consultants after switching.

The label does not fit an in-house HR team that processes a few applications a month and never sends a CV outside the company. It does not fit an individual recruiter with no template to enforce. And it does not fit a team whose only problem is data extraction into the ATS, because that is a parsing problem, and DaXtra or Textkernel from the same list solve it more directly.

A listicle tells you which shelf a tool sits on. It cannot tell you whether your consultants spend 30 minutes or 3 minutes formatting a CV today. Measure that first. If the answer is 3 minutes, no tool on the list will pay for itself.

How to read a listicle before you buy

Third-party comparisons are useful as a shortlist and useless as a decision. Four checks turn one into the other.

CheckWhy it mattersWhat to ask each vendor
Run your own worst CVsDemo CVs are clean. Yours have two columns, skill bars, photos and a scan from 2014.”Format these five, live, in my template.”
Where the data is processedCandidate CVs are personal data. EU processing and retention windows are contractual questions.”Which region, what retention, and is there a DPA?”
Template setup effortA tool that needs a designer for each client variant slows down the first month.”Who builds the template, and how long does it take?”
Pricing per CV, not per seatFormatting volume is uneven. Seat pricing charges for consultants who rarely format.”What does it cost at 50 CVs a week, and at 500?”

Saply’s answers, for the record: any file format including scans, EU processing with a DPA for every customer, templates set up by Saply from your upload, and a free trial with no credit card so the first check costs nothing.

What the listing changes for us

Not much operationally, and that is the honest answer. A dofollow mention from a recruitment software vendor is a useful signal for search engines and for AI assistants that increasingly answer “which CV formatting tool should an agency use” by citing comparison pages. It does not change the product. The features ATZ CRM listed in March are the same six that consultants use every day, and the gaps it did not list, such as Europass and EU framework template support, were already there too.

If you found this page from the ATZ CRM list, the fastest way to check the entry is to upload a real CV on the homepage and see what comes back.

Frequently asked questions

Who is ATZ CRM and why does its list matter?

ATZ CRM is an AI-powered applicant tracking system and CRM built for recruitment agencies and staffing firms. Its editorial team publishes comparisons of recruitment tooling, and its “Top 9 CV Formatting Software For Recruiters” list is one of the pages AI assistants cite when asked about CV formatting tools. Being listed there is a third-party signal, not an award.

Does Saply integrate with ATZ CRM?

Not through a native connector today. Saply’s native ATS integrations cover Bullhorn, Carerix, Spott and Loxo. Agencies running ATZ CRM, or any other ATS, use Saply inside Word, Google Docs, Outlook and Gmail, and attach the finished CV to the candidate record. If your team runs ATZ CRM and wants a direct connector, tell us; integrations are built on request.

Is Saply a competitor of ATZ CRM?

Only partly. ATZ CRM is a system of record with a formatting module inside it. Saply is a formatting, tailoring and matching layer that works inside the tools a recruiter already uses and alongside whatever ATS the agency runs. Agencies that keep their ATS and add Saply on top are the common case.

What does ISO 27001 certified mean for a CV formatting tool?

It means an independent auditor has certified that the vendor runs an information security management system meeting ISO/IEC 27001:2022, covering access control, encryption, incident handling and supplier management. For an agency, it shortens the security questionnaire your enterprise clients send before they let you process candidate data through a new tool.

Does the ATZ CRM list cover Europass or EU tender CV formats?

No. The list treats CV formatting as branded templates for client submissions, which is most of the market. Consultancies bidding on EU institution contracts also need mandated templates such as DIGIT TM or Europass, often anonymised. Saply covers those separately, and our guide to formatting CVs for EU tenders explains the requirements.
